Dear Atlantians,
We have enjoyed your Moroccan musings. It takes a while to get used to Moroccan ways. Lynne, the girls and I went to Marakesh a couple of years ago and fell foul of a passport official with a bug overcoat and a bigger moustache. This was because Sarah's passport was out of date and I, as the only male present, had to be responsible. Once the official had given me a good dressing down, with plenty of finger wagging, he had a go at the taxi driver for good measure. After that he was kindness itself and wished us a pleasant stay in the country. It would have been better for all of us if I hadn't been struck down with dysentry (well, a bit of a tummy upset)a couple of days later. In general a memorable trip and good in parts.
I'm told that a phrase, useful for European women, is: "You should be ashamed of yourself.", but I don't know the translation.
Re Jamaca or BVI.. I'm starting to plan. NB My great great great uncle died of Yellow fever at St Thomas in 1855.
