On friday the 13th we didn´t set sail! Not being superstitious at all! The weather was awful rain and more wind, but on Saturday we set sail. We decided to get a reasonable distance south to try and escape the weather systems hitting Cape Finesterre. We left Camarinas along with about 15 other boats who were mostly going to Muros, just south of Finisterre. We carried on to the most Northerly of the islands of the National Park of the Islands of the Atlantic of Galicia, Salvadora.
It was just like Coll, but with a few more trees and a ruined village and two spectacular sandy beaches. Sud, the lighthouse keeper´s dog showed us round the island. He was sad to see us go. A couple of nice day sails to Vigo and the other islands were pleasant but overcast.
Margaret and Susan went swimming off a beautiful white sandy beach on the southern most of the islands, Illas Cies o de Baiona. Will wimped out, too cold. There were some naked people sun bathing on the beach, very unBritish.
We are now in Baiona, just south of Vigo, where the weather is awful. Gales for the last two days and heavy showers. Just like Scotland, except warmer (just)! We will probably stay here tonight and then go to Portugal.
