We left Kinsale on the 1st August. We sailed for three and a half days over choppy seas to reach Spain. On the way we all took three hour watches day and night. We saw six pilot whales, seven fin whales and were joined by families of dolphins along the way. It rained half the time!!

We arrived in Coruna on the 4th August and explored the city. It had a magnificant square and was built around a medieval town with interesting narrow streets.

We then sailed to Ria de Ferrol, which turned out to be very industrial and naval, with ship building and oil terminals. We are now storm bound in Caraminas, where we have been for long cycle rides along the coast while waiting for the wind to ease before rounding Cape Finistere.

At this point we were going to publish the first chapter of Will´s journal, however, we thought that it was too long and so you will have to buy the book to find out what really happened!

Camarinas is surrounded by the sea, huge wind farms (especially for Don Quixot), pine trees, donkeys, cockrels crowing and acres of corn on the cob! The people are amused by our bikes, we are exhausted by them! We are now going back to the boat to cook lamb chops for tea.

We will post pictures once we have made them smaller!!
